Most of the young kids may get confused by this but to the old guard, this is the stuff of dreams and soundblaster cards. When you first launch either Command and Conquer or Red Alert, you see the classic Westwood Studios logo followed by a "campy 90's installation" where the game gets optimized for 4K and picking surround sound as an audio option. It's very amusing in the way you see Petroglyph's influence and trademark humor. For all the grief that EA as a publisher gets, it's worth mentioning that they chose to let this game be opened like a book so the community continues to write love letters to the franchise in their own way. This game includes the original source code which is available on GitHub so modders can work on enhancing the game further. The remastered games include the original Tiberium series of games and Red Alert along with the expansions that you can enjoy playing on 4K displays all at a great price for hours of packed content including missions that appeared on the console versions and couldn't be accessed on PC's until now. So naturally this is a game I wanted to jump right into when they announced it.Ĭ&C Remastered is not just an ordinary repainting of the game, it also improves the mechanics and fixes things that would annoy current RTS players. I was convinced that we wouldn't be getting any new strategy games from the EA camp but hopes of a remaster lingered especially with Microsoft finding success with the Age of Empires remasters.
